Driveways
New driveways, and tear-out-and-replace on the ones that have finally given up. We haul the old one away and rebuild the base, because the base is why it failed.
Where we work
Garibaldi is a real trip rather than a short drive, and we make it for the right project. Concrete on the coast has to survive salt air and a wet winter, which changes what is worth spending money on.
Garibaldi is over the coast range from us, and we make that run gladly — here is one we finished. A house above the bay had a loose gravel driveway running up to the garage and no proper entry at all. We put in a broom-finish concrete driveway and, at the front door, a stamped Italian Slate entry landing: the same slab, a different finish, chosen because the owners wanted the entry to look like something and the driveway to be hard-wearing and quiet underfoot. That is worth saying plainly, because it is how decorative concrete actually gets sold — not as a separate service but as a finish you choose inside a job you were having done anyway. Coastal work does change the specification. Salt air, a genuinely wet winter and ground that stays soft mean the base matters more, not less, and a slab that would be fine inland will move here if it was poured on something thin. So we build the base for the weather it has to live in and finish it for the traffic it has to take. If you are on the north coast, call us. The distance is our problem to solve, not a reason to leave you off the list.
What we do here

New driveways, and tear-out-and-replace on the ones that have finally given up. We haul the old one away and rebuild the base, because the base is why it failed.

Patios, walkways, entries and stoops, from a plain broom finish to exposed aggregate. Poured over a base we built ourselves, with the fall worked out before the forms go up.

Footings, stem walls and slab-on-grade for houses, additions, shops and outbuildings — dug, formed, poured and finished by one crew, on the framer's schedule.
