Demolition & Concrete Removal
Old concrete out, debris hauled away, and the ground graded back to a surface you can build on. Most of our tear-outs are the first stage of a job we are also pouring, so the site is left ready for what comes next rather than simply cleared.
Most replacement jobs start with tear-out, and separating the tear-out from the pour is how they go wrong. We break out and remove driveways, patios, walkways, steps and slabs, take down failing structures that are in the way, break out old foundations from under a standing house, haul the debris off, and grade the ground back to a surface somebody can actually build on. Having the same crew and the same machines come back to pour has one real advantage, and it is not the price: nobody hands off. When the old slab comes up, the reason it failed is usually sitting right there underneath it — a base that was never thick enough, or ground that has been holding water for twenty years. The people looking at that are the same people who have to answer for what goes back on top. Under a separate demolition contract, that same discovery becomes a change order and a week of waiting. A job in Dundee shows how it plays out: a failing, rotten deck came off the front of a house, and a new concrete front porch, sidewalk and steps went in where it had been. Demolition and removal was the first line on the estimate, and the same crew finished the job.

Look at what is under it
We come and look before quoting, because what matters is not the slab, it is what is beneath it and what has to survive the removal — utilities, a foundation, a tree, a neighbor's fence.
Protect access and the ground you are keeping
Where the machine goes, where the truck sits and what gets matted or protected are decided first. Most of the damage on a demolition job happens to the things nobody planned around.
Break out and haul off
The concrete comes up, gets loaded and leaves. Disposal is inside the number we give you rather than added to it afterwards.
Grade back to something buildable
The hole gets brought back to a compacted, level surface. If we are pouring, this is the start of the base. If we are not, you get a site the next contractor can work on.

Yes. It is inside the number we give you rather than a line that appears later. Concrete disposal is a real cost and pretending otherwise just moves the argument to the end of the job, which is the worst possible time to have it.
Yes — the house gets supported on temporary cribbing and the old foundation is broken out and removed underneath it. It is careful work and it is not a job to take the cheapest bid on. We will walk it with you and tell you honestly what the access allows before anyone commits to a method.
No. We will do the demolition on its own and leave you a graded site. But it is usually cheaper and faster not to split them, because the machine that pulls the old slab out is the machine that rebuilds the base under the new one, and there is no gap between two contractors for the schedule to die in.
