Where we work

Concrete Contractor in Yamhill, OR

Yamhill is fifteen minutes up Highway 47 and it is farm and acreage country, which means the buildings that need concrete out here are usually shops, barns and equipment storage rather than houses.

Yamhill is fifteen minutes up Highway 47 from us, and it is farm and acreage country — so the buildings that need concrete out here tend to be shops, barns and equipment storage rather than houses. A job we finished out here is the clearest thing we can show you. It started as a dry field of cut grass beside an existing steel shop, on ground that fell away across the site. We cut the pad into the slope, hauled the spoil, brought base rock in and compacted it in lifts, then formed the footings and stem walls stepping down the grade in plywood — that is a lot of dirt work before a single yard of concrete arrives, and it is the half of the job most concrete companies hand to somebody else. Then we poured it: a large slab inside its stem walls, floated flat, anchor bolts set to the plan. Bare field to finished slab, same crew the whole way. If you are putting up a shop or a barn out here, that sequence is the thing worth asking any contractor about, because the finish is only ever as good as the compaction under it — and on a sloped acreage site, the compaction is the whole job. We also do the ordinary work here: driveways and approaches long enough to need thinking about, drainage on ground that holds water all winter, and footings for additions.

Where we cover around town

  • The town center along Highway 47
  • Out toward Carlton on the Yamhill-Newberg road
  • The acreage and farm properties north of town
  • Toward Gaston and the north county line

What we do here

The work we do most in Yamhill

  • A finished poured foundation for a house — perimeter stem walls, interior bearing walls and crawlspace vents, with stripped form lumber stacked around it

    Foundations

Footings, stem walls and slab-on-grade for houses, additions, shops and outbuildings — dug, formed, poured and finished by one crew, on the framer's schedule.

    Learn more about Foundations

  • A shop foundation part-built on a cut hillside pad, with plywood and steel forms staked along stepped footings, crushed base rock leveled across the middle and forested hills behind

    Excavation & Site Prep

Site cuts, grading, base rock and compaction, with our own machines and operators. This is the half of a concrete job most concrete companies hand to somebody else.

  • A broom-finished concrete slab and apron poured up to the wall of a dark steel shop building, with a yellow vapor barrier still laid out over the unpoured bay behind it and hills across the valley beyond

    Garages & Shop Floors

An interior floor is a different pour from a patio, and the difference is underneath the concrete. Garage slabs, shop and barn floors, and outbuilding slabs specified for the load that will actually live on them.
